After five years of absence, the anime Black Clover has returned to Crunchyroll. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the first episode of the second season was released. In this new chapter, the Magic Knights embark on a mission to rescue Vangeance and Yami, two of their captured leaders, while the Shadow Triad, a powerful group of mages, begins planning to open the Qliphoth Tree. This mysterious structure plays a central role in the upcoming season. The first season of Black Clover aired from 2017 to 2021, consisting of 170 episodes. The anime was paused to allow the original manga to progress, as the story had not yet reached its conclusion. Now, with the second season underway, fans can follow the adventures of the characters as they continue their journey. The Qliphoth Tree is a concept rooted in esoteric traditions, often referred to as the Tree of Death. In the world of Black Clover, it is the inverse of the Tree of Life, representing a magical link between the human world and the Underworld. The Shadow Triad aims to open this connection, allowing their demonic allies to enter the human realm and gain immense power. However, summoning the Qliphoth Tree is no simple task. To open the Qliphoth Tree, the Shadow Triad must first gather two key individuals: those who wield Darkness Magic and the Magic of the World Tree. They have already captured Yami and Vangeance, fulfilling the first requirement. The second condition involves a powerful magical ritual requiring an enormous amount of mana. This may prove challenging, especially with the arrival of the strongest mages from the Kingdom of Clover, who could disrupt the Shadow Triad’s plans. The Shadow Triad’s ultimate goal is to reshape the world by using the power of the Underworld. Their rule is based on strength, and they have already transformed the Kingdom of Spade into a society where the weak serve the powerful. By opening the Qliphoth Tree, they hope to bring demons into the human world and achieve near-immortality. Whether Asta and his friends can stop them and save their world remains to be seen. The second season of Black Clover continues every Saturday on Crunchyroll.
