Dedicated to cereal producers and other large-scale agricultural operations, the Salon des Grandes Cultures is a new event created by Profield Events. It will take place in Châlons-en-Champagne, a city in the Marne department of northeastern France, from January 25 to 27, 2028. Profield Events, the organizer, is already known for managing several agricultural fairs, including the Salon de l'Herbe, Salon des ETA, Salonvert, and Sitevi. This new fair aims to bring together professionals in the field of large-scale farming and industrial crops.
The event will be held at Le Capitole exhibition park in Châlons-en-Champagne, a venue that also hosts the annual Châlons Fair in September. According to Virgile Melin, the fair's director, the location was chosen for its central position within a major area of large-scale farming. More than 35% of France’s large-scale farming area is within a three-hour drive of Châlons, and 52% is within four hours. For industrial crops, the figures are even higher, with 68% and 91%, respectively.
Le Capitole is well-equipped to host large events. It is less than 40 minutes from the Reims Champagne-Ardenne TGV train station, has 8,000 parking spaces, and offers 16,000 square meters of covered space. It can also accommodate 15,000 square meters of outdoor tents, comparable to the size of the Salon des ETA. The organizers expect between 30,000 and 40,000 visitors for the event.
To ensure a high-quality experience, the organizers plan to limit the number of exhibitors to 400 and will hold the Salon des Grandes Cultures every two years. This decision reflects a focus on maintaining the event’s professional standards and providing a concentrated platform for industry professionals to connect, showcase innovations, and discuss future trends in large-scale agriculture.
