Rockstar Games has revealed that GTA 6 will not include well-known Florida attractions such as Disney World and SeaWorld. According to a report by Game Informer, the fictional version of Florida in the game, named Leonida, will not feature these specific locations. Paul MacPherson, senior vice president of environmental art direction at Rockstar, explained that none of these major amusement parks would be present in the game due to narrative and design considerations. However, he emphasized that the goal is to recreate the authentic Florida experience through a carefully selected range of landscapes, cities, buildings, and other elements. In GTA 5, players could explore areas such as the Venice Beach boardwalk, where they could ride roller coasters and a Ferris wheel. However, these activities were not considered exceptional enough to warrant an entire park in GTA 6. Despite the absence of amusement parks, the game will include a zoo featuring more than 170 different species, including rare and legendary breeds. Rockstar confirmed that its teams spent significant time in Florida to study the region, including visits to local strip clubs and nightclubs in a strictly professional context. The studio aimed to capture the essence of Florida through its design and storytelling, even without including specific major attractions. This approach reflects Rockstar’s focus on creating a detailed and immersive environment that reflects the real-world region, while also allowing for creative freedom in the game’s narrative and gameplay elements. The decision to exclude major landmarks such as Disney World and SeaWorld has sparked discussions among fans about how GTA 6 will represent Florida. Some players expressed disappointment, while others praised the studio’s commitment to authenticity and creative storytelling. Regardless of the reception, Rockstar remains focused on delivering a game that offers a rich and varied experience of the Florida landscape, tailored to the needs of the GTA series.
