Anthony Jelonch is nearing the end of his recovery from an injury sustained on April 13 during a rugby match at the Stade Chaban Delmas. The injury occurred when he attempted to tackle Bordeaux's Marko Gazzotti, resulting in him leaving his right shoulder on the field. After undergoing surgery and a period of rehabilitation, he participated in rugby workshops at the Ernest-Wallon training grounds on Monday. Although he is not yet ready to play in the upcoming match against Bayonne on Sunday evening (21:05), his return is expected soon. The question of whether he can qualify for the Six Nations Championship remains open, as the list of French players for that tournament is expected by the end of the month. His return might be delayed if the Stade Toulousain keeps him out of the first day of the Champions Cup match against Exeter, as the next opportunity to play would be the following weekend. A few days before facing Bayonne, the Stade Toulousain saw several players return to training. After their narrow victory against Castres on Saturday evening (8-7), the team has already begun preparing for the next match. The Top 14 leaders will host Bayonne, who are currently third in the standings with four wins and one loss, on Sunday evening (21:05). The Toulousains started their preparations on Monday afternoon with their first training session. According to La Dépêche, several players who were previously rested have returned to training. Cyril Baille and Dorian Aldegheri rejoined the front line, while Thibaud Flament and Joshua Brennan returned to the second row. Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack were present in the backline, along with Kalvin Gourgues and Santiago Chocobares in the center. Teddy Thomas also returned to the wing. Two players are confirmed to be absent for the match against Bayonne. Thomas Ramos, who suffered a hamstring injury, and Jack Willis, who has a knee inflammation, will not be available for the game. Meanwhile, several other players have reached a new stage in their recovery. Léo Banos, Anthony Jelonch, Paul Mallez, and Célian Pouzelgues—each injured in different parts of their bodies—can now participate in team training. However, their recent return means they are unlikely to be eligible for the match on Sunday, unless there is a change in their condition. The list of players who are still out remains long. David Ainu’u, Pierre-Louis Barassi, Valentin Delpy, Malachi Hawkes, Blair Kinghorn, and Peato Mauvaka are all still recovering from various injuries. Mathis Castro-Ferreira has, however, resumed running after his ankle injury. On the other hand, Emmanuel Meafou, Clément Vergé, and Nelson Epée are still away from the field for longer periods. Despite these absences, Toulouse is experiencing several returns. Léo Banos, Paul Mallez, and David Ainu’u are progressing well in their recovery. Mathis Castro-Ferreira, who is just beginning to regain his fitness eight months after his last match, will take longer to return. Jack Willis is still being managed by the staff due to inflammation in his knee operated on this summer. Alongside him, Peato Mauvaka, Pierre-Louis Barassi, Blair Kinghorn, and Thomas Ramos remain out. Vergé and Delpy are expected to be sidelined for longer periods. After a significant turnover at Castres, Toulouse will bring back several key players for the sixth round, including Teddy Thomas, Kalvin Gourgues, Santiago Chocobares, Romain Ntamack, Antoine Dupont, Thibaud Flament, and Joshua Brennan, who are all expected to return.
