In his more than 40-year career as a photojournalist, Alex Brandon, the chief White House photographer for The Associated Press, says he has never been asked to serve as a decoy. “Wild. Just wild,” he remarked, referring to the unusual situation he was placed in. Brandon is one of several individuals who have shared their experiences in Instadocs: The Decoy Plane, a 28-minute documentary exploring the events surrounding a mysterious plane that was allegedly used to mislead the public during a period involving former President Donald Trump. The documentary, produced by the investigative journalism platform Instadocs, delves into claims that a decoy aircraft was deployed during a time of heightened public interest and media scrutiny. While the details remain speculative, the film features interviews with insiders, former officials, and experts who provide different perspectives on the alleged use of the decoy plane. The topic has sparked debate among journalists, analysts, and the public, with some questioning the transparency of the situation. Brandon’s involvement highlights the unique role of White House photographers, who often find themselves in unexpected or high-pressure situations. As a trusted media figure, his testimony adds weight to the narrative presented in the documentary. Other contributors include individuals who were present during the events in question, offering their accounts of what they witnessed or were told. Instadocs: The Decoy Plane is part of a broader trend in media that seeks to uncover lesser-known or controversial aspects of political events. While the film does not offer definitive proof of the decoy plane’s use, it raises important questions about the intersection of media, politics, and public perception. The documentary is available online and has generated discussion among those interested in the behind-the-scenes dynamics of political coverage.
