Tunisia focuses on tech training

Tunisia is prioritizing training in information and communication technologies to meet growing industry demands. The government is working with Tunisie Telecom to adapt education programs to fields like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

New partnership for digital training

The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training signed a five-year framework agreement with Tunisie Telecom on October 14. The agreement aims to improve digital infrastructure in training centers and establish AI laboratories.

AI labs to be built in vocational centers

Tunisie Telecom will help set up AI laboratories in vocational training centers. The first of these labs was opened in September at the Kef vocational training center, with plans to build 12 such facilities by 2027.

Improved internet and training methods

The partnership includes upgrading internet connections for training centers and employment offices. It also involves updating telecom training programs to match industry needs and offering internships and distance learning opportunities.

Virtual labs and remote learning

A planned online learning system will be hosted in Tunisie Telecom's national data center. It will use virtual reality and augmented reality to allow remote experiments and practical training sessions.

Growing demand for tech specialists

A 2026 study by the Ministry of Employment and the ILO found that Tunisia has more than 120,000 information and communication technology specialists. Demand is also rising in European markets, with an estimated need for 10 million specialists by 2030.
