British boxer Conor Benn, known for his controversial career, is set to face American welterweight Ryan Garcia in a highly anticipated WBC title fight on September 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The bout marks Garcia’s first defense of the WBC welterweight title, which he secured in February by defeating Mario Barrios. Benn, who recently beat former champion Regis Prograis in April and also defeated Chris Eubank Jr—whom he had previously lost to—will be looking to make his mark in this high-profile match. Both fighters have faced scrutiny over their careers, including past positive tests for banned substances, which have led to mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. The fight is scheduled to take place at 1am BST on Sunday (5pm PT / 7pm CT / 8pm ET on Saturday), with the main-event ring walks expected around 4am BST (8pm PT / 10pm CT / 11pm ET on Saturday). The event will be streamed live on DAZN in the UK and most countries worldwide, with a pay-per-view cost of £24.99 or as part of the Ultimate Tier subscription. In the United States, the fight will be available on Paramount+. The undercard features several notable bouts, including Jai Opetaia defending his Zuffa cruiserweight title against Noel Mikaelian, as well as fights across various weight classes. Bookmakers have set the odds for the main event with Garcia as the favorite at 3/10, Benn at 5/2, and a draw at 16/1. The fight is expected to draw significant attention from boxing fans around the world, given the high stakes and the personal histories of both fighters. The event is not only a title defense for Garcia but also a chance for Benn to establish himself as a top contender in the welterweight division. The match-up between Benn and Garcia represents more than just a title bout—it is a clash of two fighters with contrasting styles and backgrounds. Benn, known for his aggressive approach and powerful punches, will be looking to capitalize on his recent victories, while Garcia, a technically skilled boxer with a strong defensive game, aims to solidify his position as a dominant force in the division. The fight promises to be a thrilling spectacle for fans of the sport.
