Disney+ will add Toy Story 5 to its lineup on September 23. Directed and co-written by Andrew Stanton, the film follows toys competing for the attention of a child named Bonnie, with themes that contrast traditional toys against modern technology. While film writer Jake Coyle notes it may not match the brilliance of the first three Toy Story films, he still praises it for maintaining the quality and emotional depth that Pixar is known for. HBO Max will debut Backrooms, a horror film directed by Kane Parsons, starting September 25. Coyle described the film as more intriguing in its concept than in its execution, calling it a "fitfully unsettling nightmare." Meanwhile, Paramount+ will air Tuner, a thriller starring Leo Woodall, on September 21. Described as a sharp, original film, Tuner is compared to Good Will Hunting and is considered one of the best of the year so far. Netflix will premiere UNABOMBER on September 25, with Jacob Tremblay playing real-life figure Ted Kaczynski. The film features a strong cast including Russell Crowe and Shailene Woodley. In music, country singer Kenny Chesney will release his 21st studio album, Silver Sands Marina, this Friday. Tinashe’s new album Popstar offers a diverse range of pop tracks, from "Melatonin" to "Too Easy," showing her experimental side. Apple TV will debut Brothers, an eight-episode comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, on Wednesday. The first two episodes will be available immediately. Netflix will also revive the HBCU-themed sitcom A Different World on September 24, with original cast members like Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison returning. Starz will launch S.W.A.T.: Exiles, a spinoff of the CBS show, on September 25, featuring Shemar Moore and already renewed for a second season. In video games, Control Resonant, a sequel to Control, will release on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, and PC. The game includes supernatural powers and varied weaponry. Silent Hill: Townfall, a new entry in the Silent Hill series, will also debut on September 24, taking players to a mysterious 1990s Scottish village where protagonist Simon has no memory of how he arrived.
