LG splits C6 series into two categories

LG has divided its C6 OLED television series into two categories for 2026, with the 42, 48, 55, and 65-inch models using a standard OLED evo panel, while the 77 and 83-inch models feature a brighter panel inspired by the LG G5.

48-inch model becomes more affordable

The 48-inch model, the smallest in the series, has seen a significant price drop of 400 euros during the early Black Friday period, making it more accessible to buyers. The LG OLED48C6 now costs 899 euros at Boulanger, down from its usual price of 1,299 euros.

LG OLED48C6 features and capabilities

The LG OLED48C6 includes a 48-inch OLED evo panel with 4K resolution, a variable refresh rate that can go up to 165 Hz for gaming, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and the Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor. It is designed to fit on a TV stand and offers high contrast, deep blacks, and vibrant colors, though with less brightness than larger models.

Processor and HDR support

The Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor enhances image processing, brightness, and color accuracy. The television supports HLG, HDR10, and Dolby Vision formats but does not support HDR10+. It has a 40 W audio system that is adequate for daily use, though a soundbar is recommended for full Dolby Atmos effects.

Gaming and compatibility features

The TV supports variable refresh rate (VRR) up to 165 Hz, which is ideal for competitive PC gaming. However, for console gaming, the PS5 and Xbox Series X are limited to 120 Hz in 4K. The television is also compatible with ALLM and VRR for low latency and has four HDMI 2.1 ports. It runs on webOS 26 and supports various voice assistants.
