The ITIA reported 22 alerts in Q3 2026, up from 10 in Q2, but still below 2025 levels. Most alerts involved lower-level men's tournaments.
Report highlights increased betting alerts
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) released its third-quarter 2026 report on Wednesday, revealing 22 alerts related to unusual betting patterns between July and September. This is a rise from the ten alerts recorded in the second quarter of 2026, though still fewer than the 26 alerts from the same period in 2025.Most alerts linked to men's M15 circuit
Of the 22 alerts, 13 were related to matches on the men's ITF M15 circuit, accounting for 59% of the total. Three alerts involved women's W15 tournaments, two were linked to the men's M25 circuit, and two concerned Challenger 50 tournaments. One alert each was for an ATP 250 match and an ITF W35 match.ITIA clarifies alerts are not proof of match fixing
The ITIA stressed that an alert does not confirm match fixing. Unusual betting patterns can arise from various factors, such as rating errors, information about a player’s physical condition, or other specific circumstances. The agency reviews reports from betting operators and may start confidential investigations if there are signs of fraud.More alerts in M15 not necessarily linked to corruption
The ITIA noted that the higher number of alerts in M15 tournaments does not necessarily mean more corruption, as these tournaments have many matches. In addition, the agency collected 2,150 samples during surprise anti-doping tests in 51 countries during the third quarter. This number reflects the total samples collected, not the number of unique tests.
