Pianist to perform recital in Paris

Pianist Jean-Nicolas Diatkine will perform a solo recital on 30 November at Salle Cortot, a renowned concert hall in Paris known for its acoustics and intimate atmosphere.

Program features works inspired by French poetry

The recital will include pieces inspired by the French romantic poet Aloysius Bertrand and the mysterious, dreamlike style of E.T.A. Hoffmann, with Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit as a centerpiece. This work is known for its challenging and ethereal qualities.

Beethoven's final piano sonata will be performed

The program will also feature Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 in A major, Op. 111. This piece was composed when Beethoven was nearly completely deaf, and he could only hear it in his mind as he wrote it.

Chopin's Ballades highlight poetic expression

Chopin's Four Ballades will be performed, reflecting the poetic and romantic spirit of Adam Mickiewicz, a leading figure in Polish literature and a key influence on Chopin's compositions.
