Real Madrid sets new three-point record

Real Madrid has set a new record in the Liga Endesa by making 24 successful three-point shots in a single game, achieving a 53.3% success rate from 45 attempts. This occurred during the fifth day of the league season on the road against Lleida, marking a historic milestone for the competition.

Previous record matched and surpassed

The previous record of 23 successful three-pointers was set by Unicaja Málaga during the 2024-2025 season and later matched by Baskonia in the 2025-2026 season. Real Madrid surpassed this with two French internationals, Theo Maledon and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot, playing pivotal roles in the game.

French duo dominates three-point shooting

Maledon scored 27 points, including 7 out of 8 from beyond the arc, while Luwawu-Cabarrot led the team with 31 points, including 7 out of 9 from three-point range. Together, the two French players accounted for 14 of the 24 successful three-point shots.

Record broken in final seconds

Maledon was the one who broke the record, converting the 24th successful shot in the final seconds of the game. This performance also marked the second time in Liga Endesa history that two players from the same team each made seven three-point shots in a single game.

Luwawu-Cabarrot shines in fourth quarter

Luwawu-Cabarrot stood out in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points, which is the best offensive performance in a single quarter of Liga Endesa since Conner Frankamp's 22 points in March 2024. He finished the game with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a 35 rating, making him the top overall performer.

Real Madrid's three-game streak

This performance is part of a three-game streak for Real Madrid, in which they set personal records for three-pointers in the league and EuroLeague. A week earlier, Real Madrid had set its personal record in the league with 20 three-pointers against Bilbao Basket. A few days later, they also set a new EuroLeague record with 21 successful three-pointers against Maccabi Tel-Aviv. The victory against Lleida, with a score of 122-86, marked Real Madrid's eighth consecutive win across all competitions.
