New flight route launched

The British low-cost airline easyJet introduced a direct flight between Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Southampton, southern England, on October 25, 2026. The service runs on Thursdays and Sundays, with one-way tickets starting at 45 euros, according to the company’s announcement.

Flight details and schedule

The flight operates twice a week, connecting Paris-CDG to Southampton (SOU) with departures on Thursdays and Sundays. The route was announced by the British airport in April and is part of the winter 2026-2027 flight schedule. The journey takes about 1 hour 25 minutes, with base fares starting at 45 euros per person, including taxes and fees.

Shift to Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle

This is not easyJet’s first connection to Paris, as it had already launched flights to Paris-Orly in 2025. The new route marks a shift from Orly to Charles-de-Gaulle, with flights to Orly ending on October 24, 2026, and the new service beginning the next day. The move reflects easyJet’s strategy to focus on regional connectivity and affordability.

Future plans and seasonal availability

While easyJet describes the route as a winter offering, the current schedule includes dates for summer 2027 as well. Travelers should confirm the exact dates during booking, as availability and schedules may change depending on the season.

Southampton Airport expansion

Southampton Airport’s ability to host easyJet is part of its recent infrastructure improvements. In September 2023, the airport completed a 164-meter runway extension, allowing it to accommodate larger aircraft like the Airbus A320. This upgrade aims to attract more airlines and expand the airport’s network.

Access to southern England

For French travelers, Southampton offers a convenient gateway to southern England without needing to go through London. The airport is close to the Southampton Airport Parkway train station, with a seven-minute train ride to the city center and ten minutes to Winchester. EasyJet highlights local attractions like the SeaCity Museum and the Ocean Village district, as well as nearby destinations such as the Isle of Wight.
