2025 marked a significant year for 360-degree cameras, with several major brands introducing new models or upgrading existing ones. Insta360 continued to compete with its X5 (now replaced by the X6), while DJI launched the Osmo 360. After years of delays, GoPro finally released the Max 2, an upgrade to its original Max model. In reviews, the Max 2 was praised as "worth the wait," and its recent price drop makes it even more attractive. Now available for $299 on Amazon, the camera is 40% off its original $499.99 price tag. Other 360 cameras currently on the market in the U.S. include the Osmo 360 and Insta360 X5 and X6. However, the GoPro Max 2 is currently considered the best value among these options. For those looking to start with a complete setup, Adorama offers the Max 2 Accessory Bundle for $369.99, which includes a 1.2-meter extension rod, a memory card, and an extra battery. This 40% discount on the GoPro Max 2 represents one of the best deals seen in recent seasonal sales. For an additional $70, buyers can get the accessory bundle at Adorama for $369.99, which includes all the essentials for capturing 360-degree footage. The camera is currently priced at $299.99 at Adorama. The 360 camera market has been experiencing some uncertainty. DJI is currently banned from releasing new models in the U.S., including the recently announced Osmo 360 II. Meanwhile, Insta360 has been increasing its prices, as seen with the recent X6 model. GoPro, which has faced financial challenges in recent years, may have stabilized after merging with an obscure brand that produces AI infrastructure for the U.S. However, the future of the company remains unclear. Despite these market uncertainties, the price cut for the GoPro Max 2 offers some relief. The camera captures high-quality 8K 360 footage in daylight and offers versatile mounting options. It also allows for easy lens replacements without tools, which is a cost-effective solution if the large lenses are damaged during use. However, the camera is known to overheat and has slightly reduced image quality in low-light conditions. Overall, though, it remains a top-performing 360 camera, especially at its current discounted price. For those seeking the best value, the Max 2 deals are highly recommended.
