The podcast Le club de Sam has been launched as a special edition of Sam and the Explorers of Life, a series that features Sam, the mascot of the Salamandre Junior magazine. Sam answers children's questions about nature in a friendly and engaging way. In the first episode, Sam addresses two questions: one from Renaud, an 8-year-old who asks why sharks can swim very fast for short bursts but not for long distances, and another from Aris, an 11-year-old, who wants to know how to tell a day butterfly from a night butterfly. These questions reflect the curiosity of young listeners and highlight the podcast's focus on making natural science accessible and fun. The podcast aims to keep children engaged by providing answers to their questions every 15 days. New episodes will be released each month until summer, offering a regular source of information and discussion on nature-related topics. The second season of Sam and the Explorers of Life is planned to begin in October, continuing the format of featuring experts who explain biodiversity in ways that are easy for children to understand. This approach ensures that the content remains both educational and entertaining for young listeners. Le club de Sam is produced by La Salamandre & Billy the Cast, with support from the French Office for Biodiversity. The podcast includes contributions from naturalist experts David Melbleck and Théo Tzelepoglou, who help provide accurate and detailed answers to the children's questions. Children can submit their own questions via voice message to samjunior@salamandre.org, and all questions are also addressed on the Salamandre Junior forum, encouraging interaction and community engagement. The Salamandre Junior magazine, an independent and non-profit publisher, provides additional resources for children who are interested in exploring and protecting nature. The magazine complements the podcast by offering articles, activities, and educational materials that encourage young readers to learn more about the natural world. Together, the magazine and the podcast form a broader initiative aimed at fostering a love for nature and environmental awareness among children.
