Boichi, the creator of the internationally acclaimed manga Dr. Stone, is currently working on a new series called The Marshal King. The manga has been published on Shonen Jump+ since February 2025 and is expected to conclude with its 34th chapter, set to release on October 16, 2026. The final chapter will be available exclusively in English on Manga Plus, with a possible French release depending on future plans. Dr. Stone is one of the most successful manga of the late 2010s, having sold over 20 million copies globally and inspired a four-season anime adaptation with 95 episodes. Despite the success of Dr. Stone, Boichi has continued to create new content, launching The Marshal King in February 2025, four years after the original series ended. The Marshal King is set in a post-apocalyptic world and takes a different approach from Dr. Stone, focusing on a Western-themed story. The plot follows the journey of Jim Godspeed, the son of M. Godspeed, a notorious outlaw who was recently killed by his own son. Jim is traveling through the desert with his father’s body to claim the bounty on his head and gain entry into the prestigious marshal school in the Far West. Although he claims his goal is to end the era of outlaws, his true intentions remain uncertain. The news of The Marshal King's conclusion was announced on October 8, 2026, through the X (formerly Twitter) account @WSJ_manga, which regularly shares updates about Shonen Jump. The final chapter will end the series, leaving readers with only one chapter to resolve the story. The sudden ending has led to speculation among fans about the reasons for the conclusion. Some believe Boichi may be facing health issues, which could explain the eight-month hiatus in December 2025. Others suggest that the story may have run out of ideas or that the series lost its audience during the break, prompting Shonen Jump to end it. Neither Shonen Jump nor Boichi has officially commented on the series' conclusion.
