EastEnders fans are in for a dramatic week as Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) prepares to confront Max Branning (Jake Wood) over his infidelity and ongoing relationship with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy). The tension comes after Cindy discovered Max’s affair with Priya, despite her initial attempts to forgive him and save their marriage. However, Max ultimately chose to pursue a relationship with his ex-partner Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) instead of reconciling with Cindy. Now, Cindy is about to learn the full extent of Max’s betrayal, including his ongoing relationship with Linda and the fact that Priya is pregnant with his child. In upcoming episodes, Priya attends a baby scan with her fiancé Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), believing him to be the father of her unborn child. As they discuss how to tell their children, Nugget and Avani, about the baby’s arrival, they are unaware that Cindy is on the same train carriage and has overheard their conversation. This sparks Cindy’s suspicion, and she becomes determined to prove that Max is the child’s father. Her investigation leads her to evidence confirming Max’s paternity, prompting her to confront Priya and demand she leave Walford or face exposure of the truth. Cindy’s anger is further fueled when she returns home to find that her sister-in-law, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), and her brother-in-law, Peter Beale (Thomas Law), have invited Max to reconcile. This leads to a heated confrontation at The Vic, where Cindy declares war on Max, vowing to take everything he owns in the divorce. Michelle Collins, who portrays Cindy, recently hinted at the character’s darker side, noting that Cindy knows how to use a gun and has done so before, suggesting her revenge could go beyond financial measures. The upcoming episodes will also see Max arrested for solicitation to murder, as well as a tense hostage situation involving Lauren and Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) on New Year’s Day. These developments raise questions about Cindy’s potential involvement in the unfolding drama. EastEnders will air these intense scenes starting Monday, 21st September, at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
