Nintendo underestimates demand for special Switch 2 edition

Nintendo has admitted it underestimated the demand for a special edition of the Switch 2 that includes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The limited stock of the 40th-anniversary version sold out quickly, leaving many fans unable to purchase it.

Global demand surprises Nintendo

Bill van Zyll, vice president of Nintendo's Latin America division, said the company had not expected the global level of enthusiasm for the special edition. He noted that the issue of high demand was encountered in markets around the world.

Release date set for new stock

The special edition of the Switch 2 will be available starting October 29, a week before the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. This timing aligns with the anticipated interest in the classic game's updated version.

Consumers advised to be patient

Nintendo has announced plans to restock the special edition, but it warned that consumers may need to be patient to obtain the console. The company is working to meet demand while ensuring quality and availability for all customers.
