A new children's book titled Mamayou follows the reluctant journey of a cat who is not thrilled about being taken to the countryside. Written by Marie Tibi and illustrated by Layla Benabid, the story is told from the cat's perspective, highlighting the contrast between the animal's experiences and what its human believes it understands. The narrative begins with Mamayou trapped in his transport box, imagining he is being taken to a "witch," before realizing he is heading to a farm. The trip, marked by bumpy rides and unfamiliar sights, eventually leads to a mysterious spray that helps him fall asleep. Upon waking, Mamayou discovers a new environment filled with unfamiliar scents. His human encourages him to explore and "make some friends," leading him to gradually inspect this new world. The story includes humorous moments, such as Mamayou's attempts to catch a funny big creature. The book offers insights into the countryside from a feline viewpoint, blending humor and feline skepticism. Marie Tibi, born in 1959, is a French author of children's literature.
