Apple has introduced new customization options for its Liquid Glass interface with the release of iOS 27. Liquid Glass is a design feature that gives the iOS interface a transparent, glass-like appearance, often used in apps and menus. This update, which has sparked mixed reactions among users, allows for more control over how the interface looks. Previously, users could choose between Tinted Mode, which makes the interface darker and more contrasted, or the Clear option, which keeps it more transparent. However, these options were seen as too limited, leading Apple to introduce a slider in iOS 27 for more detailed adjustments. To adjust the Liquid Glass effect, users need to open the Settings app and go to the Appearance section, where they will find the Liquid Glass menu. Instead of the previous on/off toggles, users now see a slider. Moving the slider to the left makes the glass look more like actual glass, while moving it to the right makes the interface more opaque, similar to older iOS versions. Users can also leave the slider in the center to blend both effects. Apple includes a quick preview of the changes directly on the screen, allowing users to see the effect without leaving the settings. It's important to note that adjusting the intensity of the glass effect on the Lock Screen remains a separate option from the slider in the Settings app. This feature is only available in iOS 27, meaning users will need to update their iPhone to access the new customization features. iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone 11 models and newer, so users with older iPhones may not be able to take full advantage of the updated interface. For users who want to disable Liquid Glass almost completely, there is an option in the Accessibility settings. By navigating to Display & Text Size, users can enable the Reduce Transparency toggle. This setting is more extreme than the Liquid Glass slider and is ideal for those who strongly dislike the glassy effects in iOS. iOS 27 updates have been available to developers and beta testers for some time, with the public release expected in September. Users who want to try the beta version on their iPhone can sign up for the Apple Beta Program. However, they should be aware that beta versions may contain bugs or glitches that could affect performance.
