Alexis Hanquinquant, a French paratriathlete, has once again claimed the title of world champion in the PTS4 category, marking his ninth world title in this classification. The competition took place on Friday, September 25, in Pontevedra, Spain. Hanquinquant secured victory with a 13-second lead over his Spanish rival Nils Riudavets, who claimed gold. His compatriot, Pierre-Antoine Baele, took the bronze medal. At 40 years old, Hanquinquant has remained undefeated since 2019 and has continued to dominate his category in recent competitions. Competitors are classified based on the extent of their impairment, with PTS4 being a category for athletes with a single leg amputation or other lower limb disabilities. Hanquinquant's consistency and skill have made him a dominant force in the sport, and his latest victory reinforces his reputation as one of the top athletes in his category. The French team had a strong showing at the World Championships, with multiple athletes securing top honors. Camille Sénéclauze also won gold in the PTS4 category, joining Hanquinquant on the podium. Another French athlete, Zoé Réveillon, finished just behind her in the same category. In the PTS2 category, Jules Ribstein claimed his sixth world title, showcasing his long-term success in the sport. Other French athletes also brought home medals. Elise Marc earned silver in the PTS3 category, while Antoine Perel and Joseph Fritsch took bronze in the PTWI and PTWC categories, respectively. These results highlight the strength of France's paratriathlon program and the depth of talent within the country. With multiple athletes achieving success, the French delegation has proven to be a formidable force in international paratriathlon competitions.
