Game release on Nintendo Switch

Silver Lining Interactive, the developer of Steel Mantis and Maximum Entertainment France, has announced that the brutal gothic hack-and-slash game Slain 2: The Beast Within will launch on Nintendo Switch in a physical edition. The game was previously announced for PlayStation 5, and the new entry in the Slain and Valfaris universe is scheduled for a release in early 2027.

Physical editions available

The physical edition of Slain 2: The Beast Within will be available on both PlayStation 5 disc and Nintendo Switch cartridge. Fans of physical media and boxed editions can pre-order the physical edition to show off their heavy metal pride.

Gameplay and story

According to the announcement, Slain 2: The Beast Within features the return of the nightmare legions of tyrant Lord Vroll, who can only be opposed by the heavy metal powers of Prince Akran, the last Wolf Knight. Players can wield Bathoryn, the living sword infused with elemental destruction, or succumb to the dark curse in their blood and transform under the full moon into an unstoppable werewolf.

Game features

Main features include fierce combat with steel, fire, and ice, the power of Bathoryn granting mastery over the elements, and the ability to transform into a werewolf to tear enemies apart with claws, fangs, and raw, unstoppable bestial power. The game includes three perilous quests set in beautiful but nightmare-like landscapes, handcrafted environments, ghostly and treacherous seas, haunted castles, and the dark abyss to retrieve sacred relics.
