NIS America, Inc. has announced the release of Sounds from the Shade, the official soundtrack for the video game Village in the Shade, and shared a plan for future content updates through spring 2027. The game, which is set to launch in North America and Europe, has already sold over 250,000 copies in Japan. The soundtrack includes 38 tracks spread across two discs and is included with every limited edition package of the game. Village in the Shade is a simulation game set in the fictional mountain village of Kagatsu. It features hand-painted visuals and allows players to engage in activities like planting crops, customizing their homes, and interacting with local characters. The game's environment invites players to relax by a stream, view cherry blossoms with neighbors, or explore the village. However, the game includes a set of simple rules: players are not allowed to speak to strangers, leave the village, or go out at night. For those who prefer a less intense experience, the game offers a "Village in the Sunshine" mode. In this mode, players cannot break the rules, allowing them to enjoy a peaceful and stress-free rural lifestyle. Features include decorating homes with furniture bought in town, participating in traditional Japanese festivals like the summer festival and cherry blossom viewing, and uncovering secrets about Kagatsu at their own pace. A limited edition version of Village in the Shade is now available for pre-order at $89.99. This package includes the game, a collectible box, an art book, the soundtrack, an acrylic block, and a set of metal pins. After its release, players can expect two free updates that add new furniture, livestock, catalog features, expanded farmland, and a birthday event for the protagonist. Additional content, including new scenarios, gameplay systems, autonomous events, and new maps, is planned for release as part of the spring 2027 downloadable content (DLC).
