New update for Pokemon Pokopia

A new update, version 2.0.0, is available for Pokemon Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2, marking a significant enhancement to the game. The update includes several new features, comfort improvements, and gameplay novelties aimed at allowing players to "shape their world more effectively, better control their inventory and strengthen the happiness of Pokemon" around them. The update also introduces a Halloween-themed event scheduled to start on October 17.

New features for players

Among the changes, players can now have up to 10 lost items appraised at once by addressing Professor Bouldeneu. Master Queulorior, Apireine, Mordudor, and Gromago can now handle multiple transactions from a single conversation. Master Queulorior can now paint patterns based on photos of objects taken by the player. Additionally, Pokemon that are sad about the removal of a piece of furniture now notice more quickly if the same furniture is placed again. If a habitat is destroyed and then rebuilt in the same area, Pokemon will return to their habitat.

Inventory management improvements

In terms of inventory management, a new type of storage device has been added, allowing access to items stored in it from multiple locations. Items stored in a storage device can be retrieved from any other storage device, even if they are in different areas. Players can now move multiple items at once between their Bag and the storage chests. Items placed in waste containers, such as trash cans, can now disappear, facilitating the removal of unwanted items.

World shaping enhancements

For world shaping, players can now vacuum objects, access their bag, and consume food even when taking the form of Gravalanch. When Metamorph spits out stored water, the water level now automatically aligns with the surrounding water level. When placing windows, doors, or similar objects, players can now adjust the depth, allowing for greater precision in building. When searching for treasures in Flotîles-Millefeux with Cherch'Objet, treasures will no longer appear at a location that would cause its fall if the block it is in is broken.

Fixes and comfort improvements

The update also includes fixes such as a reduction in the frequency of in-game event reminders, which will now occur on certain days before the end of an event. Camera parameters have been added to help with motion sickness.

How to install the update

To install the 2.0.0 update, the game should install automatically when launching the Nintendo Switch 2, provided the corresponding setting is enabled. Otherwise, players can go to the Pokemon Pokopia tile from the console menu, press the "+" button, select "Update," choose the "Via internet" option, and wait for the update installation to finish. This update is separate from Part 2 of the Expansion Pass, expected for the end of 2026.
