Dreo MC706 combines fan and heater functions

The Dreo MC706 is a dual-purpose device that functions as both a fan and a space heater. It aims to provide a more affordable and space-efficient alternative to high-end models like those from Dyson, combining two devices into one.

Design and portability

The MC706 is a tower fan with a compact footprint, standing 107.9 cm tall and weighing 6 kg. It includes a handle for easy movement between rooms and features a touch-sensitive control panel on top for adjusting settings like temperature, timer, and operation modes.

Power and versatility

The device uses a 2,000 W ceramic PTC resistance for heating and a 12-speed DC motor for cooling. It can adjust heating power on five levels and includes an Eco mode to maintain temperature efficiently. Additional features like a 12-hour timer, overheating protection, and automatic shutdown add to its safety and usability.

Limitations and usage

While suitable for a bedroom or office, the MC706 is not designed to replace central heating in large spaces. Prolonged use may increase electricity costs. In summer, its DC motor provides strong ventilation with 12 speed settings and a 120° oscillation for effective cooling.

Noise levels and recommendations

Dreo claims the MC706 produces 25 dB at its lowest setting, but it reaches 64 dB at full speed—similar to normal conversation. For quieter nighttime use, lower speeds are recommended. For cooling-focused models, users are advised to compare it with other top-rated connected fans.
