Three people were taken to the hospital after a stabbing occurred outside an LGBT+ nightclub in Liverpool city centre. The incident took place on Tithebarn Street around 6:35 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to Merseyside Police, the attack happened outside the G-Bar on Eberle Street following an "altercation," which refers to a disagreement or fight. Three men were injured in the attack and taken to the hospital, with two in stable condition and the third sustaining minor injuries. A nearby resident, Blake Chen, 30, said he was woken up by screaming around 5:30 a.m. and saw police cars, ambulances, and a police cordon set up at the scene. The suspected weapon has been recovered and is being forensically examined. The police are continuing their search for the suspect, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency. Detective Chief Inspector Lisa McNaughton stated that an altercation near G-Bar led to the three victims sustaining injuries. She emphasized that the consequences of the incident could have been even worse and assured the public that the police will relentlessly pursue the offender. There will be an increased police presence in the area conducting investigations, and she urged people to speak to the police if they have any information or concerns. G-Bar, which opened in 1996, describes itself as "one of Liverpool's most iconic and enduring LGBT+ venues." The club has long been a significant cultural and social hub for the local LGBT+ community. The incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, and the community is likely to be closely following the police investigation.
