Porsche Cayenne loses significant value quickly

A nearly new Porsche Cayenne GTS 2026, purchased in January 2026, lost nearly 35,000 euros in value by October of the same year, highlighting the challenges of the luxury SUV market.

Owner sold the car after nine months

The car was bought brand new at a price of 153,000 euros but was sold on an online auction platform, Cars & Bids, for 118,000 euros. The owner decided to sell it after acquiring a more family-friendly Alpina XB7, which better met their needs.

Car had high-end features and cost more than catalog price

The Cayenne GTS 2026 was equipped with several premium features, including the Technology, Sport, and Premium Plus packages, 22-inch wheels, and a unique interior design. This added more than 34,000 euros to the original catalog price of 119,000 euros.

Vehicle performance and specifications

The Cayenne GTS 2026 is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine producing 493 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 275 km/h.

Auction did not meet reserve price

The car was listed on Cars & Bids with an auction ending on October 28, 2026, but it failed to meet the reserve price. The sale was eventually completed for 118,000 euros, marking a loss of 35,000 euros in less than a year.

Depreciation rate is unusually high

The depreciation rate of 6.50 euros per 1.6 km driven is notably high for a nearly new vehicle. This highlights the rapid loss in value experienced by luxury SUVs in the current market.

Used car valuations show a lower range

According to Kelley Blue Book, a used Cayenne GTS 2026 is valued between 104,000 and 109,000 euros. The sold example, despite its high-end features, was still sold below the original purchase price.

European market values are even lower

In Europe, the median price for a used Cayenne GTS 2026 is 71,800 euros, according to AutoUncle. This shows a significant difference in valuation between European and American markets for the same model.
