Seven graphic novels have been chosen for the 2026 Graphic Narrative Prize, an award given by the Société civile des auteurs multimédia (Scam). The prize offers 5,000 euros to creators who produce graphic narratives that challenge or question reality, often blending visual art with storytelling. The selected works include Monsieur Chouette by David B. (L'Association, 2025), Sarcophage by Philippe Dupuy (2042, 2026), Tout ce que je ne t'ai jamais dit by Maïté Grandjouan (Frémok, 2025), Levure by Juliette Hayer (Sarbacane, 2026), Du pain blanc et du chocolat by Pascal Matthey (L'employé du moi, 2025), Pavé de bonnes intentions by Zoé Rivière (Cambourakis, 2026), and Tachycardie by Maybelline Skvortzoff (Tanibis, 2026). The jury for the 2026 prize includes Olivier Deprez, a comic book author and engraver who won the award in 2025 for Wrek (Éditions Frémok), Dominique Goblet, an illustrator and visual artist, Ernestine Ngo Melha, a writer and member of LaScam's writing committee, Isabelle Jarry, a novelist and essayist also on the writing committee, and Séra, an illustrator and member of LaScam’s still images committee. The Graphic Narrative Prize is one of several annual awards given by La Scam, along with the Joseph Kessel Prize, the Marguerite Yourcenar Prize, and the François Billetdoux Prize. Last year, Olivier Deprez was awarded the Graphic Narrative Prize for his work Wrek (Éditions Frémok).
