Unusual bruises found on elderly resident

During a routine examination of a 93-year-old nursing home resident in Toulouse, a doctor discovered bruises on the woman’s chest and side that were described as "suspect and unexplained," according to the Dépêche du Midi.

Burial permit not issued

The doctor, who had been called to certify the woman’s death on Saturday, did not issue the burial permit due to the suspicious nature of the bruises, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Autopsy ordered by prosecutors

The prosecutor’s office has ordered an autopsy to be conducted at the Institut médico-légal de Purpan (IML) to determine whether the death can be classified as "natural" or if there is a possibility of a fall or violence involved.

Further analyses possible

The results of the autopsy could lead to additional investigations if the findings suggest that the woman’s death was not the result of natural causes, potentially involving external factors.
