The Philips AIS8540/80 Series 8000 combines steam generator, iron, and adjustable table into one unit for versatile ironing needs.
All-in-one ironing system
The Philips AIS8540/80 Series 8000 combines a steam generator, a steam iron, and an adjustable table into a single unit, offering a versatile setup for ironing and steaming.Power and steam performance
The device has a power of 2200 W, a maximum pressure of 6 bars, and a continuous steam flow of 90 g/min. It offers three steam levels and a pressing function, though the temperature is managed automatically by the OptimalTEMP technology.Adjustable and mobile design
The table has a surface of 83 x 36 cm and an adjustable height and inclination, allowing users to adapt the working position. Integrated wheels make it easier to move the unit around, and the base can be detached for greater flexibility.Lightweight iron and compact design
The iron itself weighs only 740 g, with a compact size and ergonomic grip for ease of use. The steam hose is 1.28 m long, which is shorter than standard but sufficient for use with the table.Water capacity and convenience
The removable water tank holds 1.2 liters, which is smaller than some competitors but allows filling directly from the tap. The tank can be refilled during use without waiting for the device to cool down.Steam control and operation
A button allows selecting between three steam quantities: Eco, Normal, and Max. Two operating modes are available: a single press sends steam while held, and a double press activates continuous steam for 8 minutes, reducing the need to keep the trigger pressed.Performance and results
The device reached the stated preheating time of 90 seconds and showed good temperature homogeneity. It performed well on linen and jeans, with smooth ironing and effective wrinkle removal when using maximum steam.Limitations and maintenance
The device lacks a scale collector but includes a scale prevention system. Users in areas with hard water are advised to use a mix of tap and demineralized water. Water splashes were observed during testing, and the power cord length may limit mobility in certain setups.Overall assessment
The Philips AIS8540/80 Series 8000 is a practical, well-designed station that combines ironing and steaming functions. While some aspects like cable management could be improved, it offers good performance and flexibility for home use.
