GTA V receives a visual upgrade

Thirteen years after its initial release, GTA V continues to evolve on PC, thanks to a new mod called AuraV. This mod, created by a modder named Kypos, focuses on improving the game's lighting, sky, water, and weather effects.

AuraV modernizes the game's appearance

AuraV aims to bring GTA V Enhanced into the visual era of more recent games. It uses a technique called path tracing, which simulates how light behaves in a scene, to create more realistic lighting and shadows. This gives the game a more modern look and feel.

Path tracing enhances atmosphere

Path tracing is a rendering technique that allows for more accurate simulation of light, leading to more realistic shadows, reflections, and indirect lighting. In GTA V, this means that transitions between day and night, and changes in weather, look more natural and immersive.

Visual effects improve details

The mod introduces volumetric clouds, reworked water effects, and more realistic rain, lightning, and smoke. These changes affect not only the environment but also the vehicles and characters in the game. For example, smoke from tire burnouts lingers longer, and car surfaces react more realistically to light.

AuraV has two versions

The mod is available in two versions: a free Lite version and a Full version. The Lite version includes path tracing for lighting and shadows, ray tracing for reflections, and improved sky and weather effects. The Full version, available on Patreon, adds even more details such as water reflections, road splashes, and vehicle smoke effects.
