Retroid Pocket, a company that makes portable gaming devices, has announced a new version of its Duo lineup called the Duo Lite Plus, which is now available for preorder. This follows the launch of its Duo and Duo Lite models just a few days earlier. The new model was introduced in response to customer feedback, though some who had already ordered the Duo Lite expressed frustration upon learning about the new option. The Duo Lite Plus is positioned between the Duo Lite and the full Duo model in terms of features. It combines the slimmer design of the Duo Lite with the more powerful Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor found in the more expensive Duo model. The Duo Lite Plus is priced at $219 for preorders, with an early bird discount bringing the cost down to $199. Customers can expect shipments to begin in mid-November. To accommodate existing customers, Retroid Pocket has offered free exchanges for anyone who purchased the Duo Lite and wants to upgrade to the Duo Lite Plus. The company temporarily paused shipments of the Duo Lite for a few days to allow customers to compare the devices and make informed choices. In a statement, Retroid Pocket emphasized its goal of ensuring that existing customers had the chance to select the device that best suited their needs. Customers who have already ordered the Duo Lite can choose to keep their original order or switch to the Duo Lite Plus. The company is covering all shipping costs and exchange fees for this transition, making the upgrade process seamless for those interested. This move highlights the company's responsiveness to customer preferences and its commitment to providing flexibility in product choices.
