Albin Michel, a well-known French publishing house, has announced that Arnaud Labory will become the head of its press department, according to a statement from the company, as reported by ActuaLitté. Labory will report to Anna Pavlowitch, who leads the publishing division, and will be responsible for shaping and executing the publisher's press strategy. His role will involve maintaining the company’s heritage while adapting to the evolving media environment. He will be supported by a team of professionals, including Aurélie Delfy and Sandrine Perrier-Replein for French and international literature, Agnès Olivo and Frédérique Pons for non-fiction and essays, and Yasmine Ouannane for the PQR imprint in Switzerland and Belgium. Labory emphasized that joining Albin Michel is a significant responsibility, as it involves supporting a major independent publishing house, its authors, and its commercial and marketing efforts. He also expressed enthusiasm about working with a team of experienced press officers and his confidence in the collaborative potential of the group. Labory has over twenty-five years of experience in public relations, primarily in publishing and cultural institutions. He co-founded the Anne & Arnaud press and public relations agency with Anne Vaudoyer and later established La Bande, a communication agency specializing in culture, publishing, and performance. In addition to his work in public relations, Labory has expanded into production by partnering with Nedjma Van Egmond. Together, they organize charity events for Bibliothèques Sans Frontières, a nonprofit organization that provides books to underserved communities, in collaboration with Augustin Trapenard and Adrien Bosc. Labory has also worked with major institutions such as the SNCF (France's national rail company), Fnac (a large French retail chain), the Avignon Off Festival (a prominent theater event), and the Angoulême International Comics Festival (a major event for comic book creators and fans). He frequently speaks about the influence and reputation of cultural institutions at the University of Paris Cité. Labory is set to begin his new role at Albin Michel on 2 November 2026. His appointment reflects the publisher's commitment to maintaining a strong presence in the media landscape while adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
