LEGO has announced the release of three new Batman-themed sets on January 1st. These sets include two based on iconic vehicles from the Batman Returns movie and the Batman Arkham video game series. Each set comes with a code to unlock golden versions of the vehicles in the video game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The third set, titled LEGO DC Batman: The Joker Wall Art, is inspired by an iconic comic book cover drawn by artist Jock for Detective Comics #880, published in 2011. This set features a detailed close-up of the Joker's face, with red Batman symbols as eyes and a swarm of bats emerging from the frame. LEGO promises that the set includes "hidden details" that become visible during construction. The LEGO DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set allows fans to build both the Batmobile and the Penguin’s duck-shaped vehicle from the 1992 film Batman Returns. This set includes a code to unlock a golden red brick in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, as well as a golden accessory from the Batman Returns Batcave in the game. The LEGO DC Arkham Batman Batmobile set features a 317-piece replica of the Batmobile from the Batman Arkham video game series. It includes a Batman figure and a code to unlock golden skins and/or vehicles in the game. The LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game is not expected to bring any groundbreaking innovations, but it is described as offering a solid experience with a focus on staging and adaptation. Fans attending New York Comic-Con, which runs from October 8th to 11th, can view the new sets on display at DC's booth, number 4365. A three-meter-high brick replica of the Joker cover from Detective Comics #880 will also be on display at the event. Pre-ordering the Joker wall art at the event will grant fans a reprint of the issue with a redesigned LEGO brick cover. The original cover artist, Jock, will be present at the event for a signing session on October 8th at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. This gives fans an opportunity to meet the creator of the iconic artwork and get a signed copy of the comic. The event highlights the collaboration between LEGO and DC Comics, bringing together fans of both the Batman universe and LEGO’s creative building experience.
