La Chanson du dimanche, a French comedy duo consisting of Clément Marchand and Alexandre Castagnetti, has revealed plans to return to the internet with a new season of content. On September 27, they released a "hamac teaser" — a short promotional video — on YouTube, announcing a new song every Sunday as part of their 20th season, with a planned release date in 2027. The duo also announced a tour titled L'heureux tour to celebrate two decades of their career, noting that the tour will help "to pay for mémé's hospice," a reference to funding care for their grandmother. La Chanson du dimanche launched their YouTube channel in February 2007, posting a new song every Sunday. They gained popularity with parody songs such as Bonne humeur, Super pouvoir d'achat, and Petit cheminot. After several seasons and creating songs for the 2010 World Cup, the duo largely disappeared from social media before returning in 2020 with a special "confinement season" during the pandemic. They have continued to perform occasionally on stage, including a recent show on May 17 at La Gaubretière in Vendée. Alexandre Castagnetti has pursued a career in film direction, including directing Amour et turbulences, a movie starring Ludivine Sagnier, Nicolas Bedos, Jonathan Cohen, and Arnaud Ducret. He is also working on a new adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, which will feature Romain Duris and Deva Cassel. The film is expected to premiere in theaters on October 28. The duo's return highlights their enduring presence in French entertainment, blending humor with music and continuing to engage with their audience through both performances and creative projects.
