European Authors' Day returns in 2026

From 11 November to 12 December 2026, European literature will return to the road across France, supported by the regional agency of Centre-Val de Loire Ciclic. This European Authors' Day aims to increase the mobilization around reading and provide greater visibility to the literary voices of the continent.

Positive response last year

Last year, the event received a positive response in France, with around 150 labeled initiatives benefiting 5,300 readers. For 2026, Ciclic invites all actors in the book chain—including teachers, librarians, booksellers, publishers, and authors—to promote reading through meetings or workshops in order to arouse public curiosity around new books and new literary themes.

Free participation and resources

The labeling of one or more events is free and open to any action taking place from 11 November to 12 December 2026. Free communication kits can be sent to structures wishing to support their action and offer their public a souvenir of the event.
