Aglaé de Chalus, who has served as the director of communication at Tripode since 2023, has taken on a new role as an attaché for books and intellectual debate at the French Embassy in Brazil. Based at the French Consulate General in São Paulo, she will focus on promoting French literature and fostering discussions on intellectual topics in Brazil. Her departure from Tripode has prompted internal changes, with Carla Richard, who previously worked as an intern in graphic design and communication, now assuming responsibility for communication and press at the publisher. Aglaé de Chalus expressed excitement about returning to Brazil and being honored to take on her new role, which she described as a "new beginning." She succeeds Marion Loire in a position that emphasizes French books, intellectual exchanges, and debates in the region. This move continues a career already deeply connected to Brazil, where she lived from 2013 to 2020 as a correspondent for several French-language media outlets, including Arte, RTL, La Croix, and France 24. She also co-authored the documentary Noir Brésil, which explored the legacy of slavery and discrimination in Brazil. After returning to France, she worked as an independent journalist in Marseille and later as head of communication and events at the bookstore Maupetit-Actes Sud before joining Tripode in 2023. Carla Richard's transition to the role was well-planned, allowing for a smooth handover of responsibilities. She joined Tripode in September 2025 as an intern and positioned herself for the role as Aglaé de Chalus's departure became clear. The transition was organized over several months to ensure she could take over the methods of work related to press and communication, as well as the strategies implemented over the past three years. Carla Richard will now focus more on graphic design, her original training, and will work on publishing and visual identity across printed and digital formats. She graduated in 2023 with a DNSEP in graphic and multimedia design from the École supérieure d'art et de design des Pyrénées. Tripode maintains a team of four full-time employees, complemented by two interns. One works on communication and commercial aspects, and the other within the editorial team. The publisher has also seen changes in leadership, with François Bétremieux leaving the company in July 2025. Meanwhile, Hachette Livre, a major French publishing group, is reorganizing its international operations starting in 2027. The company will change its international direction, with David Shelley moving to a new role as Global Advisor and executive president of Hachette UK and Hachette Book Group. Katie Espiner and Ben Sevier will take charge of the British and American activities, respectively.
