Trump criticizes Zelensky for Ukraine conflict

Donald Trump claimed that for peace in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky must leave power. This statement was intended to reassure his electorate, who are about to vote in the "midterms," a set of congressional elections held in the middle of a presidential term.

Fuel prices and scapegoating

Concerned about rising fuel prices, Americans need a scapegoat, and according to Trump, Zelensky is responsible for this situation when his country sends missiles to Russian refineries. Trump also mentioned that the United States would buy diesel from Russia.

Scale of U.S. fuel purchase

A negligible amount compared to American consumption, but which will enrich Putin and allow him to fund his war industry. This purchase, though small, aligns with Trump's strategy of shifting blame and seeking political advantage.

Support for execution of Fort Hood shooter

Trump also stated he was in favor of the public execution of an American soldier of Palestinian origin who had shot his comrades in 2009, on the base of Fort Hood, killing 13 of them. He suggested that, like that soldier, he has betrayed the trust of his allies, who counted on him to help them: Iranians, Ukrainians, Europeans, Canadians, to name but a few.

Criticism of Trump's leadership

One report described Trump as a traitor, a man who does not hesitate to stab his allies in the back, and claimed his methods are those of the financial circles from which he comes, where money comes first and, if necessary, before democratic values. Another report suggested that Trump is the greatest traitor in American history and the democratic values proclaimed by the Founding Fathers, with his treachery occurring at a time when democracy has never been so questioned.
