A New York-based company named Gias Foods has issued a recall for a specific batch of frozen fettuccine pasta sold at Walmart stores across the United States. The product, called "Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine" under the bettergoods brand, is being recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria, a bacteria that can cause a serious infection called listeriosis. The affected packages are 22-ounce containers in bright yellow packaging, with UPC number 194346442706 and lot numbers L6079C or L6080C. These packages have expiration dates of September 19, 2027, or September 20, 2027. The recall was announced on September 15 after routine testing by agricultural departments in Washington and Florida detected potential bacterial contamination. Gias Foods has halted the distribution of these products and is asking customers who purchased them to return the items to the store for a full refund. As of now, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. Listeria is particularly dangerous for high-risk groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of listeriosis can include fever, fatigue, muscle aches, headaches, confusion, loss of balance, and seizures. Although no illnesses have been reported yet, the recall is a precautionary measure to ensure consumer safety. In addition to this recall, another frozen product sold at Walmart has also been pulled from store shelves. Danone USA, the manufacturer of So Delicious ice cream, voluntarily recalled its "So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert" on September 15. The recall was due to the potential presence of foreign materials, such as small stones and other hard objects, in certain pints. The affected product has best-by dates on or before April 3, 2028, and is labeled with SKU 136603 and UPC 744473476138. Danone USA confirmed that this recall is limited to this specific product and that it was sold at Walmart, Target, and other retailers nationwide. This comes after another recent recall involving a frozen berry mix sold in 16 states, which also prompted Walmart shoppers to check their freezers for affected products. These multiple recalls highlight the importance of food safety and the need for consumers to remain vigilant about checking for product recalls, especially for items that are stored in the freezer and may not be consumed immediately.
