Service disruption on line R

Trains on line R will not operate between Melun and Montargis, nor towards Montereau via Moret, on October 31 and November 1, 2026. Replacement buses and diverted trains are planned for these dates.

Impact on travel plans

Passengers on line R will need to adjust their travel plans on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2026. The disruption affects a key axis for travel between southern Seine-et-Marne, Melun, and Paris.

Disruption details and affected areas

The Transilien SNCF Voyageurs work schedule confirms a disruption throughout the entire weekend, in both directions. Residents who usually use line R from Fontainebleau–Avon, Moret–Veneux-les-Sablons or stations further south will need to take this disruption into account for their weekend travel.

Replacement services and route changes

SNCF plans replacement buses for the disrupted sections. Passengers must check their starting point and the proposed schedule for their specific journey. Trains heading to Montereau will be diverted via Héricy, while trains heading to Montargis will be suspended during the work period.

Navigating the disruption

Melun station is the central transfer point for passengers coming from Paris and continuing to Fontainebleau. A passenger arriving from Paris-Gare-de-Lyon on Sunday, November 1, can reach Melun via line R, then take a work bus heading to Fontainebleau–Avon. The bus schedules, their stops and connections should be checked when preparing the trip.

Extended disruptions after the weekend

The disruptions will not completely end at the end of the weekend. Work will still need to interrupt services between Melun and Montargis in the evenings from Monday, November 2 to Friday, November 6, starting at 10 PM. Route searches will need to be renewed after the All Saints weekend, especially for evening returns.
