The starting lineups for Sunderland and Arsenal have been confirmed ahead of their upcoming match. For Sunderland, Roefs will be in goal, with a defensive line composed of Mukiele, Ballard, Kevin Danso, and Reinildo. In midfield, Sadiki and Granit Xhaka will lead the charge, with Xhaka also serving as the team's captain. Up front, Meunier, Le Fée, Angulo, and Brobbey will form the attacking quartet. Manager Regis Le Bris has chosen to keep the same lineup that drew 1-1 with Brentford, with no changes made to the team. Kevin Danso, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, is starting in the center of defense, while new signing Malick Fofana remains on the bench. Arsenal’s lineup features Raya in goal, supported by a backline of White, Konsa, Gabriel, and Calafiori. In the midfield, Ødegaard, Lewis-Skelly, and Rice will provide control, while the attacking trio consists of Saka, Havertz, and Tzolis. Manager Mikel Arteta has decided to retain the same starting XI that secured a win against Chelsea. Bruno Guimarães, a former midfielder for Newcastle United, is listed on the bench instead of starting at the Stadium of Light. The match is expected to be a closely contested encounter, with both teams showing little change from their recent performances. Sunderland, who have been working to stabilize their position in the league, will be looking to capitalize on any weaknesses in Arsenal’s defense. Meanwhile, Arsenal, having shown strong form in recent matches, will aim to maintain their momentum and secure a positive result. One notable absence from Arsenal's lineup is Max Dowman, who was playing for the club’s under-21 side in a match against Chelsea earlier in the day. His absence could affect the depth of the squad, though Arteta’s decision to stick with the same XI suggests confidence in the current team’s performance. The match will be a crucial test for both teams as they continue their respective campaigns.
