Amazon and La Poste, two of France’s largest logistics and delivery companies, have announced plans to hire thousands of seasonal workers to meet the surge in demand during the end-of-year holiday season. Amazon France Logistique, led by president Patrick Labarre, is set to hire 9,500 seasonal workers for logistic agent positions across 40 sites in France. These roles will be filled in storage and order preparation centers, sorting centers, and delivery agencies. The jobs involve receiving, handling, stocking, preparing orders, and shipping goods. No formal qualifications are required, making them accessible to a wide range of applicants. Starting salaries for these seasonal positions will be more than 2,000 euros gross per month, or approximately 13.05 euros per hour. After two years on a permanent contract, the salary increases to over 2,500 euros gross per month. Job applicants can submit their applications through Amazon’s website at www.travailleravecamazon.fr. The hiring period begins in October and continues through the last quarter of 2026. Labarre noted that these seasonal roles can serve as entry points into the company, with more than 1,700 seasonal workers in the past year transitioning to permanent contracts. Amazon also plans to open new sites in the next 18 months, creating 8,000 permanent positions. La Poste, France’s major parcel delivery company, is also stepping up its hiring efforts, planning to recruit 3,500 seasonal workers—500 more than last year. In addition to these temporary hires, the company will rely on its existing workforce of 100,000 employees, including postmen, sorting agents, and customer service representatives, during the busy holiday period. La Poste stated that during the last two months of the year, it may need to deliver up to 3 million packages daily, compared to 1.5 million under normal conditions. Amazon’s seasonal hiring includes positions at four new sites opened this year in Illiers-Combray (Eure-et-Loir), Colombier-Saugnieu (Rhône), Beauvais (Oise), and La Boisse (Ain). This represents an increase of 1,000 compared to last year. Amazon has reiterated its long-term investment plan of 50 million euros by 2030, aimed at upskilling its employees in France, where it currently employs more than 25,000 people on permanent contracts. Meanwhile, La Poste is investing in its logistics infrastructure through its strategic plan "Réussir ensemble - Ambitions 2031," which includes 10 billion euros in investments over five years.
