Troyes launches neighborhood advisor program

The city of Troyes (Aube) is launching a new initiative to involve residents in local decision-making by appointing neighborhood advisors. This program aims to give a voice to residents and local actors in shaping their communities.

Residents can apply to join neighborhood councils

The neighborhood economic and social councils are open to any adult who lives, works, or carries out activities in the neighborhood. The only requirement is a willingness to contribute to the neighborhood’s improvement, with no specific skills or qualifications needed.

Structure of the neighborhood councils

Each of the seven neighborhood councils will have up to 15 members, divided into two groups. Five members will be elected officials, including the deputy mayor responsible for the area, who will lead the council. Four additional members will be municipal counselors.

Additional members from local groups

Up to ten more members will be selected from the community, including local residents, business owners, association members, and representatives from health, education, and cultural sectors. These individuals will be chosen by the Municipal Council through an application process.

Application deadline and process

Applications for the neighborhood councils must be submitted by November 15. Residents can apply through the city hall's website using an online form. Completed forms must be sent to the Daily Life Department of Troyes, either in person at one of the neighborhood houses, by mail, or by email.

Contact details for submissions

The completed forms should be sent to Espace Audiffred, located at 1, rue de la Tour, 10000 Troyes, or emailed to vie.quotidienne@ville-troyes.fr. The deadline for submissions is strictly November 15.
