New manga release in France

The manga Vampire de compagnie, created by Marimo Ragawa, will be published by Akata in France. This marks the first time the work will be available in French, following its long-running serialization in Japan.

Digital preview to launch in October

The manga will first be released in a digital preview, chapter by chapter, with the first chapter scheduled to be available at e-book retailers on October 28 at a price of 0.99€. This digital release will allow readers to follow the story as it develops.

Print version to follow later

The manga will also be released later in print format. It will be translated by Anaïs Fourny, will be typeset by Adween, and will feature a logo signed by Tom "spAde" Bertrand, adding to the visual appeal of the publication.

Long-running Japanese series

The series has been ongoing in Japan since 2016 in the magazine Melody, published by Hakusensha, under the title Kyûketsuki to Yukai na Nakama-tachi. It currently has nine volumes, indicating a substantial body of work already completed.

Adaptation of popular novels

The manga is an adaptation of a series of novels signed by Narise Konohara, who is already known in France for the story Castle Mango (Taifu Comics editions). Konohara is one of the most famous and influential Japanese authors in the Boys’Love genre.

Genre-blending story

With its mix of comedy, fantasy, and romance, the work is expected by the publisher to revisit the vampire myth with a lot of humor and tenderness. The surprising relationship that gradually develops between a clumsy vampire and his mysterious host should not fail to captivate fans of the genre.

Synopsis of the story

Albert is an American who has been leading a rather monotonous existence since he became a vampire. His daily life is marked by endless nights and days spent in the form of a bat. Until the day an accident, quite improbable, sends him... to Japan! Frozen by mistake in a meat products factory in Nebraska, Albert wakes up in Tokyo, in a country where he does not speak the language. And when he finds himself facing the police, it is difficult to explain why he was there naked... even more difficult to avoid that his true nature is discovered! But his meeting with Akira, a mysterious young man with a particularly attractive blood scent, could well change his life.
