A janitor at Wilmington College in Ohio was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly hiding in the ceiling above a women’s soccer team locker room to take photos of the athletes as they changed, according to local police. Jayson Barker was charged with 11 counts of voyeurism after a team member reportedly saw him taking pictures from above in the locker room at the Scheve Athletic Center. Campus security detained Barker until police arrived. Barker was held at a nearby jail on $22,000 bail after his arrest but has since been released after posting the bail, according to police and jail officials. Wilmington College said in a statement that Barker was employed by a vendor and that the school has ended its relationship with the custodial services contractor. The college emphasized that its top priority is the safety and well-being of its students and has been offering counseling and other support services to affected students since Tuesday night. Authorities are investigating whether Barker has a history of similar behavior. He could face additional charges as the case develops. Barker is scheduled to appear in court on October 5. The incident has raised concerns about privacy and security on campus, prompting the college to reassess its protocols for handling such situations.
