Water purification incident ongoing

A technical issue at the Leveneur water purification plant, operated by Sudéau, has caused disruptions since Friday, October 9. The facility is currently unable to properly disinfect the water it distributes to the public.

Affected areas and safety measures

The disruption affects areas from the 19th kilometer sector to the City Center. However, parts of Tampon above the 19th kilometer are not impacted. Residents in the affected zones are advised to boil tap water before using it for drinking or cooking.

City provides free water packs

To assist affected residents, the City of Tampon is distributing free water packs to households. The distribution takes place on Monday, October 12, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at three designated locations across the city.

Residents must provide identification

To receive the water packs, residents must show proof of residence and a valid identity document. This measure ensures that the assistance is provided to those who need it most.

Restoration efforts underway

Sudéau’s technical teams are working to fix the issue at the water purification plant. They are focused on restoring normal operations as quickly as possible to ensure safe water distribution.

City and operator monitor the situation

The City of Tampon is closely tracking the progress of the repairs and is in constant communication with Sudéau. Both parties are committed to resolving the issue and minimizing the impact on residents.
