Fuel assistance application opens

The official online platform for applying for the 100 euro fuel assistance for workers known as "grands rouleurs" opened this Tuesday. The program, aimed at helping workers with high travel costs, has been updated and expanded to cover the end-of-year period.

Automatic payments for existing beneficiaries

The payment of this new allocation for the period of October to December is automatic for individuals who have already received the aid during April to September. New applicants, however, must submit a formal request to qualify.

Higher income thresholds

The income thresholds for eligibility have been increased, allowing 5.5 million French people to qualify (compared to 3 million previously). The reference tax income per share for the year 2024 must be less than or equal to 22,770 euros.

Monthly income limits

In terms of monthly net income, this corresponds to approximately 2,035 euros net per month for a single person, up to 6,100 euros net per month for a couple with two children. These limits determine who can apply for the aid.

Travel conditions required

Beneficiaries must declare an activity income and use their personal vehicle for professional purposes. They must meet one of two criteria: make a commute between home and work exceeding 15 kilometers or travel more than 8,000 kilometers per year in the context of their professional activity.

Excluded vehicle types

Electric vehicles are excluded from the program, along with plug-in hybrid vehicles, service or official vehicles, heavy trucks, and agricultural vehicles. Only regularly insured motor vehicles, including long-term rentals or vehicles borrowed from relatives, are eligible.

Application process and verification

The application must be submitted on the official tax website. The State has set up an online simulator to verify eligibility, using tax data, the vehicle’s registration number and its certificate of registration, and finally a declaration on honor regarding the kilometers traveled.

Timely payment after approval

Once the application is validated, the 100 euro transfer must be made within a period of approximately 10 days. This ensures that eligible workers receive the aid quickly after their application is processed.
