New aid payments for French workers

Starting Friday, October 16, 1.6 million French citizens who previously received a 100 euro aid for workers classified as "grand rouleurs" between April and September will receive another payment of 100 euros directly into their bank accounts, according to David Amiel, the Minister for Action and Public Accounts, as reported on RTL on Sunday.

Extended program and expanded eligibility

The program has been extended for the months of October, November, and December 2026 at a rate of 100 euros, equivalent to 40 cents per liter of fuel over three months, compared to 20 cents per liter over six months previously. The program has also been expanded to include more workers: 5.5 million people can now benefit from it, compared to 3 million previously.

Automatic payments for existing recipients

Among them, the 1.6 million who have already received the aid will again receive 100 euros on Friday, October 16. The Direction générale des finances publiques (DGFiP) states that "it is unnecessary to check if you are eligible for the period of October to December." The transfer, labeled "INDEMN.CARBURANT," will be automatic.

New application process for others

A form to fill out starting October 22 is available for the 3.9 million eligible French citizens who have never received the aid. These individuals will need to apply starting Thursday, October 22, on the tax authority's website. To determine if they are eligible, they can check their eligibility using the simulator available on the tax authority's website.

Updated income thresholds for eligibility

Since Monday, October 12, this simulator has been updated to take into account the increase in income thresholds making the aid eligible: 2,035 euros net for a single person (previously 1,058 euros), 4,070 euros net for a couple (previously 3,017 euros), or 6,100 euros net for a couple with two children (previously 4,325 euros). The other eligibility criteria, including the requirement to use a personal vehicle for professional purposes and to travel at least 15 kilometers between home and work or 8,000 kilometers per year in the context of professional activity, have not changed.

Eligibility check requires 2024 tax documents

To perform the simulation, individuals must have their latest 2024 income tax notice (prepared in 2025). If they are indeed eligible for the aid, they will be able to fill out the application form from their Finances publiques space on the tax authority's website starting October 22. The payment will be made within 10 days.
