Pearl Abyss has delayed the release of its expansion Charting the Unknown for the game Crimson Desert by two weeks, moving the launch date from October 15 to October 29. The company stated that the development team needed more time to ensure the expansion is stable and fully completed. This delay aims to provide players with a smoother and more polished experience when the content finally launches. Charting the Unknown is the next chapter in the story of Crimson Desert, continuing the adventures of characters such as Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane after the events of the base game. The expansion introduces new gameplay elements, including naval exploration, where players can command a ship to explore areas beyond the known coastlines and discover new islands. Underwater exploration is also included, allowing players to search for treasures and explore sunken ruins. In addition to new areas, the expansion brings new enemies that accompany these explorable regions. Players will also be able to rent and manage different establishments as a source of income, enhancing the game’s economic system. A more detailed housing mode with additional customization options is also included, allowing players to tailor their living spaces more creatively. Furthermore, the expansion deepens interactions with the inhabitants of the city of Pywel, enabling players to build more advanced relationships with the characters they meet there. Crimson Desert is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A free Enhanced version of the game has already been released, offering a series of additions and improvements to the base game. These enhancements are designed to improve performance and add new content, setting the stage for the upcoming expansion.
