Nintendo Direct, the second major game announcement stream of the week, highlighted a wide array of new and upcoming games for the Nintendo Switch and the newer Switch 2 console. While the stream focused heavily on titles coming to Switch 2 this winter, it also included games for the original Switch and some with release dates further into the future. Among the highlights was the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds for Switch 2, set to release on December 4. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy, will launch on Switch 2 on April 8, 2027, the same day it arrives on other platforms. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, a prequel to Final Fantasy 7, is already available on Switch 2. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a hack-and-slash spinoff of The Legend of Zelda set a century before Breath of the Wild, is coming to Switch 2 on February 25. The Switch 2 version includes improved visuals, enhanced performance, and new content such as a difficulty mode and a discount for existing Switch owners. Meccha Chameleon, a multiplayer hide-and-seek game that sold over 20 million copies on PC, is launching on Switch 2 today. The second expansion for Pokémon Pokopia, a laid-back life simulation game, will introduce new accessories later this year. Several updates and ports were also announced. Star Fox will soon support split-screen play for up to four players, along with new stages, in an update launching September 29. Star Fox Adventures, a GameCube title, is now available on Nintendo Switch Online. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will arrive on September 29, free for owners of the original Switch version. The Switch 2 edition will support mouse, motion, and touchscreen controls. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, one of Engadget's favorite games of 2025, is coming to Switch 2 in 2027 with all DLC included. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is out on September 17, and Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will follow on September 18. Other notable titles include Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, set for December 10, and a new Yo-kai Watch game in development. Pikmin 4 for Switch 2 includes voice command support and a new training mode, launching November 12. Onyx: The Dark Grip, a horror game from Bloober Team, will be exclusive to Switch 2 next year. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will also arrive on Switch 2 with new gameplay features. The Direct closed with the reveal of Kirby and the World Beyond, a 3D adventure set to release next spring, marking the 35th anniversary of the Kirby franchise.
